Nutella. Nutella is such a valuable part of my life that I can not find words adequate enough to describe its importance. I will say this–right now we are in the middle of a light kitchen renovation (I say light because we are not changing the footprint of the kitchen, but that’s the only thing we aren’t changing). Nutella is saving my life. Can’t find the syrup to spread over the waffles? Nutella and a plastic knife do the trick. Kids are bored and need something to do? Paper plates and Nutella, and finger painting never sounded so fun. Snack time while I’m in the middle of painting? Stick a bunch of plastic spoons by a jar of Nutella and the next thing you know, three girls are giggly and full. If this kitchen turns out, and I’m really doubtful at times, I will owe it all to the ever yummy Nutella.

I think that Nutella is flowing in my husbands veins. I had never heard of the stuff till I met him. He (and our kids) love it on toast the best. But, as I discovered the other day, Maren also likes to scoop it out and lick it up right from the container – all the while somehow blaming her naughtiness on her sister…

Ah, the scrumptiousness that is Nutella. One of the saddest days of my life was the day I figured out I was allergic to hazelnuts…I’d eaten quite a bit of Nutella in a few days’ time and my mouth was one big open sore. (Every once in a while it’s worth the pain, though.)

And I thought Nutella was just for mommies and daddies to have fun with! Who knew? Seriously though, does anyone know how to get the hazelnut smell out of my belly button?

I love the finger painting idea.

ds – you have forever ruined Nutella for me. You’re a peach.

A very timely post! – I just got back from the store with Nutella so that I could make Giada De Laurentiis’s yummy chocolate strawberry panini. When you’re kitchen’s back up and running here’s the link.

I’m sure that you bless Costco as well, but if it weren’t for Costco my Nutella budget would be out the roof!

Mmmm! I think it’s time for our afternoon snack.

You just sold me. I’m buying Nutella tomorrow morning. First thing. Oh wait. I have a kid with a peanut allergy. Is that going to be a problem?

Belmomma’s SIL here. For a long time I told my kids they wouldn’t like the brown stuff in the jar and they bought it until this year! Now I have to share. One week a month, I really go crazy with the Nutella. This is how I roll:
    - on apple slices to keep up the fruit intake
    - with pretzels (mini)
    - on a spoon
    - in a croissant if I feel like I’m not getting enough fat calories

Grandma introduced me and my siblings to Nutella. She was a very good Grandma.

I’m so afraid to tell you this . . . but I’ve never tasted or purchased nutella?

Can I still be your sister?

I’m actually terrified that I’ll like it, and then that’s going to be a huge problem. I already have too many obsessions.

Becca, You’re a life saver. Here in Albania it’s hard to find cocoa and baking chocolate. After reading your musings on Nutella, we went to Euro-Max and found not only Nutella but also several other brands that were much less money, but sadly not much less calories. Thanks for looking at your container to tell me the nutritional information, like calories, since this is not the Amerik and labeling. Love, RL
